Thacker Leads Ridge Heights to Gold Medal in Flag Football; Forest Hills Loses Again
FOREST HILLS- People named Justin counted for all the Chili Peppers touchdowns on Saturday as Ridge Heights beat Forest Hills 31-14. The game was played despite the wind chill being at 5 F.
Danny Alvarez hit Justin "Go Go" Gough in the corner of the end zone at the beginning of the game to make the score 6-0. The Peppers failed on the two point conversion (teams could go for one or two point conversions after a touchdown, two point conversions were further back than the one point).
Bradon Lanton then made a great grab on a great throw by Neal Gough to make the score 6-6. Forest Hills then made the score 12-6 when running back Dustin Spinguy threw a pass to Corey Wilmingham. Chili Peppers Jon Moser was then sack in the end zone and the Bombers got a safety to make the score 14-6.
Then thats when the creatine fueled Thacker took over. The Chili Peppers learned real quick that Forest Hills couldn't stop this mad man and Thacker ran it in to make the score 14-12. Thacker, MVP of the game, ran another one in, converted the one point conversion, and then ran an interception back to give the Chili Peppers a comfortable lead 25-14.
After a Forest Hills fumble, Jon Moser and Go Go converted a beautiful stop and go play. It appeared Go Go had scored the winning touchdown (first one to 27 won) but Go Go brother Neal dove and grabbed Go Go's flag at the -1 yard line. The next play was of course Thacker running everyone over and the game was over.
Special props go to Scotti Green for showing up 45 minutes late in the clothes he went out in the night before.
