| GoGo cleans up in 2008, Wins Summer Olympian of the Year; Olympians Get Very Drunk, Very Early Justin "GoGo" Gough, who was also named 2008 GGPO Winter Olympian of the Year alongside Todd Althardt, won 2008 GGPO Summer Olympian of the Year. GoGo took home 3 golds (softball, tug of war, turbo cups) and 2 silvers (potato sack racing, plinko). GoGo did all of this despite breaking his left ring finger in the 1st inning of the softball game. Brandie Sale finished closed behind with 3 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. To see how close Brandie came to winning Olympian of the Year please visit the Shot Put article :) The “How Drunk is Danny?” event, held for the first time ever in Olympic history, backfired a little bit. The idea of the event was for contestants to guess what Danny’s blood alcohol content was going to be at the end of the night. Danny was on a mission. He wanted to blow off the charts. Some Olympians happened to guess Danny’s B.A.C. was gonna be off the charts as well (contestants submitted their guess at the beginning of the day). So to insure their guess was gonna be potentially accurate they fed Danny shots, and themselves shot. And before you knew it, half the GGPO delegation was in a drunken free fall. Shot taking is now banned at all future GGPO events until 5 p. m. I am still hung over from that crap. Joey Tilk provided some unforgettable moments. First he decided to cut the GoGo’s grass with GoGo’s riding mower with the blades on their lowest setting. Then Tilk and his buddy Mello decided to tie three sticks of dynamite together, throw them a trash can, light them and scare the ever living piss out of everyone in the Fairview Heights area. People over a half mile away heard the ear shattering explosion. One stick of dynamite and several firecrackers later brought the Fairview Heights Police to the front steps of the GoGo crib. They were cool. Until they sent an unmarked police car to park 3 houses away with it's lights off, that was bullshit. So a few of us mooned him. All in all, it was a great day. Weather was absolutely perfect. Next year GoGo promises some changes to the events that will be less demanding on our drunken, getting older bodies :) |
